This waved clutch cushion is often broken, causing hard shifts and possible DTC P0776. When replacing this cushion, the 3-5-reverse clutch piston should also be replaced with the updated piston (Transtar part number 144966). The updated piston is included in the Transtar master kits.

Transtar part number 25006 contains all the sealing components, friction plates, and steel plates to overhaul the VW 02E Transaxle. This unit is called a "dual clutch" or a "direct shift" gear box. Transtar now stocks the bonded valve body plates for the ZF6HP26/6R60/75/80. These units do not use valve body gaskets, but the seperator plates have bonded rubber tracks that seal between the fluid passages in the valve body and case. There are several different plates based on model. The original plates have an ID number (i.e. 1068-327-141 or A035/B035) stamped on them. The correct Transtar number can be determined by this ID number.

Transtar now carries the 4th clutch bonded piston for Chrysler 45RFE transmissions, years 2005-up. In mid-stream 2005 several running changes were made to the 45RFE series transmission. The changes involve the 2nd/4th clutch housing and pistons. The previous pistons had removable seals, whereas the new design pistons are bonded rubber. The 4th clutch piston, D72961A, will not retrofit back due to the seal cut of the early piston/housing. Therefore, the 4th clutch piston and housing must be used as a set, 1st or 2nd design.
